In furtherance of finding out what the actual problem is, a good first step is the logs. Anyone who just sees this single information-free message and starts listing a bunch of standard troubleshooting steps is an idiot and has no business anywhere near anything resembling a programming language. The correct thing to do here is to first complain about the horrible UI of what's supposed to be a coding tool that goes to this level of effort to insulate its users from error messages, and then second find out more about the actual root cause of the problem before attempting further troubleshooting. This of course makes perfect sense because this is a generic blanket error message. Google this message and I am sure you will find dozens if not hundreds of people having this issue and just as many suggestions on how to fix this. Okay, so the first issue is this incredibly vague error message that tells you absolutely nothing about what actually went wrong. I do have 2020.1.17f1 installed as well as 2019.4.16f1, so it did work at one point.ĭoes anyone have any other ideas on what I can try next?
